Job Description We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic IT Systems Support Administrator to join to assist with the on-going development, operation and utilisation of OPERA, the Theatre Information System. In this role, you will help maintain the recording, reporting and use of information so that accurate and user-friendly information is available in a timely manner to aid the improvement of the Theatre services. IT experience is essential for this role, including the use of Microsoft Excel and a willingness to develop in other areas of IT technology. Key Responsibilities: Specific Core Functions To ensure that effective routine and ad-hoc reports are produced within agreed timescales so that the information needs for clinical, managerial, and legal purposes are met. To work effectively with the hospital information reporting team in the generation of Trust reports, and to maintain knowledge & skills. To ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with IG regulations is met at all times. OPERA – Theatre Information System Help ensure that the Theatre Information System is functioning correctly and optimally for all users. To monitor the availability and performance of the Theatre Information System and the interface with / from the hospital system and ensure that these are resolved either by own participation or the involvement of Trust IT or other individuals. In liaison with the Trust IT department to ensure system security and resilience is maintained at all times. To monitor the environmental conditions of all installed equipment, ensuing that they comply with the manufacturer’s recommendations and Health & Safety legislation. Help co-ordinate the development of new areas of functionality for the Theatre Information system, including software development and implementation of new functions. Qualifications Qualifications Essential Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent). Essential Skills and Knowledge Ability to achieve a high level of accuracy while ensuring deadlines are met. Commitment to working towards meeting the goals of the organisation in both the long and short-term Willingness to develop in other areas of IT technology. Effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail Analytical Desirable Able to use Theatre information systems. Chimera software knowledge Experience Essential IT experience, preferably in the use of Microsoft Excel Desirable Supervisory experience Teaching experience Experience of producing information for Audit purposes Previous experience of working in the NHS or a hospital setting. Experience of being able to lead, supervise and motivate others and self.
