Job summaryWe are looking for an enthusiastic pre-registration pharmacy technician apprentice to join a friendly, progressive clinical team, serving our community at West London NHS Trust. The trust provides services across a large geographical area and includes a wide range of mental health and community health services. Our 800 in-patient beds provide services from open wards through to high security forensic services and intermediate care beds. We provide a secondary, tertiary and national service. We provide services to children, adolescents, adults and older people both in the community as inpatients. Our Trust has just achieved a 'Good' CQC rating.This training post is designed to give the Apprentice Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician the technical experience and knowledge to be able to work as a General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Registered Pharmacy Technician on completion of the two year training period, including summative assessments throughout. To achieve this requires participation and completion of a rigorous training and competency programme covering the various dispensaries, pharmacy production unit, pharmacy stores and ward areas under supervision. Over the rotation period you will gain the skills to accurately assemble medicines for prescriptions and provide a safe and effective pharmacy service.Main duties of the jobPre-registration Technicians will be expected to work closely with their Designated Supervisor (DS), Practice Supervisor(PS), lead technicians, managers and pharmacists in the rotational areas and liaise with multidisciplinary teams within the trust.
