Job summaryThis is an exciting opportunity to join our Marie Curie Hospice in Liverpool. We are looking to recruit a Specialty Doctor to join our established multi-professional specialist unit. This post would suit anyone considering specialty training in palliative medicine or related disciplines, e.g., oncology or geriatrics, anyone looking for a portfolio career in general practice or someone looking for long-term work in the unique team and built environment of a modern hospice.Main duties of the jobYou will primarily provide medical support, assessment and care for hospice inpatients and outpatients and those attending Wellbeing Service in our specialist unit in collaboration with the wider team.This role involves participation in teaching and management activities at the hospice. You will be supported and encouraged to conduct audit/quality improvement and participate in activities relating to maintaining clinical excellence within the service.Previous experience in palliative medicine is desirable but not essential, and there will be education and supervision for the successful applicants.The role involves first on-call cover for the hospice and the regional advice line. On-call is a non-resident but includes returning to the hospice site out of hours when there is a clinical need.About usEvery day of your life matters - from the first to the last.
