Job summaryThe London Spinal Cord Injury Centre is a 30-bedded Unit that provides patient focused care within a multi-professional team for patients with spinal cord injury.We are looking for innovative and inspirational individuals to join our team in the provision of high quality care to the rehabilitation patients. As a spinal injury nurse you will be involved with the MDT, in facilitating goal planning meetings, case conferences to enable safe discharges.As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for supporting the ward in ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centred approach to their independence and well-being. Carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision. Teach and supervise qualified and unqualified staff as well as patients and their families or carers. This service facilitates rehabilitation of individuals who have been recently paralysed as a result of traumatic or non-traumatic events. The service also admits individuals for tissue viability care, urology input and secondary episodes of rehabilitation.The overarching philosophy of the specialist centre is that rehabilitation is a journey that takes years to achieve and is best delivered through lifelong interventions and learning. The MDT aim to give the patients the initial skills to return to their lives as soon as possible.
