About the role The University wishes to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant who will support the University's Capital Programme and support the team. This will include overseeing the Financial Planning and Management Information Tool (IBM Analytics) and the University's Finance system. Working as a member of the Capital Programme Finance team providing analysis and support to the owners of capital projects and major revenue investment programmes at the University, with a view to developing Business Partner skills. Work effectively and collaboratively within the Corporate Accounting Services undertaking Management accounting duties including month / year end activities, analysis and reconciliations to support finance control and budget monitoring. Make recommendations that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of current processes and oversee technical development projects. About you Candidates are invited to apply and must have experience of working in a Management Accounting role processing monthly and year end accounts. You should be part qualified or studying towards a recognised professional accounting qualification and with experience in financial reporting in a similar role for an organisation of similar size and complexity. You will be highly numerate with excellent IT skills including MS Office and other desktop platforms/tools, and an intermediate Excel user with experience of using formulas such as SUMIF, VLOOKUPS, Pivot tables etc on a daily basis. You should have experience of multi-user finance systems, and IBM Planning Analytics or similar Financial Analytics systems/tools. About our Division The Finance Division is led by the Director of Finance who reports directly to the Vice Chancellor. We employ some 80 staff who provide high quality financial and commercial services which support both the day to day running of our schools, services, and the development and delivery of the University's strategic aims.
