An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Orthopaedic Therapy Team as a Band 4 Therapy Support Worker, working in the trauma and orthopaedic team at Barnet Hospital, a busy trauma unit within the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The Orthopaedic therapy team is made up of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Support Workers. You will assess and rehabilitate patients with a variety of orthopaedic injuries, either with a qualified therapist or independently as appropriate, including neck of femur fractures, upper limb, lower limb, and spinal injuries, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient care throughout the patient journey. You will also assess and treat patients who have undergone complex elective surgery, helping them to quickly regain their independence and return home safely. To assist qualified therapists in managing clinical caseloads effectively, by utilising clinical reasoning, organisational and prioritisation skills. They must be flexible to fluctuating priorities, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be able to utilise correct manual handling techniques. They will need to apply excellent communication skills with MDT colleagues, patients and family members. This is a full time position which includes weekends and bank holidays on a rota. The Therapy Service is passionate about developing and delivering world class care and will provide training and development opportunities including mandatory and statutory training, and joint working to ensure you are supported in your role.
