The Eating Disorder intensive Service is a community based service, offering an alternative to inpatient care for those acutely unwell with an Eating Disorder. We work closely with the paediatric team to ensure the physical and mental health needs are met for all our young people. Duties include; • To work within a nursing team caring for young people with eating disorders. • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team • To establish the role within the multi-disciplinary team. • To assist with efficient and effective nursing care. • Leading the nursing team throughout a shift, supporting the decision making and showing accountability for junior members of the team. • Advocating for young people you are nursing and their families. • To ensure safe evidence-based clinical practice and demonstrate clinical expertise, and have delegated responsibility for the delivery of high quality patient care in a rich variety of arenas: outpatient and day patient treatment; facilitation / support for paediatric inpatient treatment for medical stabilisation and psychiatric emergencies; outreach and in-reach treatment. • To work in collaboration with the Sister/Charge Nurse and other Senior Nurses and the multi-disciplinary team to promote the unique philosophy of the Intensive Service. • Continue personal nursing development & education. • To ensure the supervision and development of all nurses, students, and support workers for whom they are responsible.
