Job summary An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Pharmacy Technician working for the PCN within designated GP surgeries. Involving close communication with 3 other Pharmacy Technicians and 4 Pharmacists to provide in-surgery pharmaceutical support and advice. Work will be primarily within named surgeries, whilst working closely with the pharmacy technicians in the rest of the network. Suitable training and support will be provided according to the requirements of the successful candidate. The role will include supporting the Practice workload with prescription requests and queries, medicines optimisation and reconciliation tasks, under the supervision of the Clinical Pharmacists. The Pharmacy Technician will have a responsibility to support the Practice Teams with Improving Patient Safety, Clinical Audit and Review and fulfilling reporting requirements relating to clinical improvement plans (CCLIP) and quality outcomes framework (QOF). The role also forms a key role in the wider Network team working to achieve the PCN Direct Enhanced Service (DES) requirements. This role is offered on a full time / part time basis. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work closely with the Network pharmacy team to ensure coordinated and efficient processing of prescription queries. They will support practice staff with any queries regarding the processing of repeat prescriptions including Nursing & Residential Care Home monthly prescriptions and requests. Another aspect of the role is to work alongside clinicians to carry out medicine reconciliations for discharge summaries, clinic letters and other transfers of care information and communication, in line with PCN policy. This is an interesting and varied role, where the Pharmacy Technicians core responsibilities will cover clinical, technical and administrative categories, to enable more efficient, safe and effective prescribing of medicine. You will be at the forefront of driving this valuable expansion and collaboration of the primary care services across the five practices in the Network The successful candidate would have a strong ethos for team working and experience in primary care or community pharmacy desirable. A commitment to enrol on CPPE PCPEP is essential if not previously completed and support will be given to complete the course. About us Poole Central Primary Care Network is a group of 5 GP Practices in Poole, Dorset, covering a population of approximately 65,000. The practices work cohesively to develop local based services to support the needs of the population we serve. Your work will mainly be based within any one of the 9 GP surgery sites.
