We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, flexible people who would enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to live the lives they want. The Service supports people with learning disabilities in their own homes 24 hours a day and involves Sleep in duties and weekend work. The support worker role involves all aspects of daily support, including supporting people to access activities and experiences in their local community, personal care, support with managing finance, administering medication and ensuring people's needs are met in terms of health and positive outcomes. To support people with dignity and respect in order to meet their day to day needs, including personal care supports. To support individuals to access a range of opportunities and experiences, either from their own home or in a community setting, including for example swimming, walking, bowling, dancing, shopping etc. To work in accordance with relevant national legislation and service specific policies and practice guidelines at all times. Skills and Experience Experience of working with adults who have a learning disability is desirable but not essential as you will be given the necessary support and training to undertake this role. Applicants who do not hold NVQ Level 3 at the time of appointment will be required to complete QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care* within the first 2 years of employment (where applicable) *Please note this training will be funded by the Service Please see Role Profile for more details of required skills and experience Other The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013).
