Job summary This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our department at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full-time substantive post. We are a busy unit with strong collaborative working relationships with ENT, Oncology and Dermatology. This is a fantastic opportunity to help the delivery of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery service to patients of Gloucestershire and surrounding areas. This advertisement is for a consultant with an interest in Orthognathic Surgery. The Oral & Maxillofacial department at Gloucester Royal Hospital is housed in a dedicated modern and well-equipped outpatient facility co- located close to theatres, a dedicated Head & Neck ward and on site maxillofacial laboratory. Main duties of the job Clinical responsibilities will include:- Undertaking outpatient clinics at both Gloucester and Cheltenham Hospitals with a main base at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital- Undertaking operating lists- To provide effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty- To sustain and develop teaching and research wherever appropriate- Having excellent team-working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional team- To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners- To follow patients throughout their clinical pathways- To complete a 1 in 5 general on-call rota About us Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the largest employer in the county and with over 8,000 staff, we are one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK.
