This is a rewarding, hands-on role based in our Birkdale Day Centre in Worthing, where you'll work as part of a passionate team helping people thrive in safe, supportive, and fun environments. 📍 Location: Worthing, West Sussex 💷 Pay: £12.80 per hour ⏰ Hours: Bank/Casual What You'll Be Doing As a Day Service Support Worker, you'll help adults with learning disabilities and complex needs build independence, form friendships, and enjoy meaningful experiences. You'll: Deliver Personalised Support: Provide care and practical help, including assistance with dressing, eating, personal hygiene, and using mobility equipment. Lead Engaging Activities: Facilitate creative, social, and physical activities in our day centres and out in the community. Encourage Independence: Empower individuals to try new things, make choices, and lead fulfilling lives. Provide Safe Transport: If qualified, you may drive or assist on our minibuses during outings and daily pickups. Work as a Team: Collaborate with colleagues, carers, and professionals to ensure consistent, person-centred care. Keep Records Up to Date: Maintain accurate documentation and report changes in wellbeing or incidents to the manager. Required Criteria A positive, can-do attitude and a passion for supporting people The ability to communicate with empathy and clarity Comfortable providing personal care and following care plans Desired Criteria Experience working with adults with learning disabilities or in a care/day service setting Knowledge of autism, Makaton, or behaviour support A relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ/QCF Level 2) Skills you'll need Guild Care.
