We are seeking a dynamic and committed professional to join our Cultural Participation Team within Culture Leicestershire. About the Role Culture Leicestershire encompasses Leicestershire County Council’s Library, Collections and Learning, Heritage and Cultural Participation services. We are a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO), supporting the delivery of the County Council’s strategic outcomes and Arts Council England’s Let’s Create strategy. This role primarily involves overseeing the participation projects across our library network whilst also being responsible for our Culture To you and Home Library Services. We are therefore seeking a flexible person who, through our dedicated teams, can navigate our exciting community co-created projects and programmes to achieve high quality outcomes for all our participants and audiences. In this role knowledge of cultural participation as a key tool for community engagement will be crucial. Please note interview for this role will take place during the week of 9th of June 2025 Specifically the role of the successful applicant will be to direct and be responsible for: • the successful delivery and development of our Art council funded participation projects in Leicestershire libraries (Creative Expressions in Libraries) and potentially some elements of Heritage Services projects. • the ongoing development and piloting of our volunteer delivered Culture to You programme that lends museums resources directly into the homes of socially isolated people and delivers cultural activity in local community venues. The pilot is currently running in Oadby and Wigston • the gathering of evaluation for the above and meeting all targets agreed with Arts Council • the continuing provision and expansion of our county wide Home Library Service offering a volunteer led, at home, library book delivery and collection service to eligible clients • managing and supporting a small cohort of staff who co-ordinate and organise the above activity. The work of the team includes commissioning creative practitioners on a regular basis. • contributing to team and wider service initiatives and changes as they arise • the financial oversight of all programmes • report on team activity and advise the Senior Leadership Team on potential development, challenges and opportunities About You To apply for this post, you must: - Have a degree, or equivalent level qualification or demonstrable experience of the items listed - Experience of leading, developing and planning cultural programmes - A high level of knowledge around community engagement good practice, policy and procedures - Experience of direct working with community groups - Experience of working with diverse range of partners to develop and deliver shared outcomes - Experience of managing a budget - Experience of managing a team You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
