Job summary We are looking for a enthusiastic and motivated candidate who has the relevant skills to join Facilities and become part of the Environmental Care Co-ordinator Team, in a busy in-patient setting. This is a fixed term six month contract or an internal secondment will be considered. The role involves ensuring that the internal appearance and maintenance of the unit is to a high standard, including accommodation, cleanliness, overall site environment, estates maintenance and new works issues, linking with facilities (domestic, catering and porting staff), capital projects and health & safety assessments. You will contribute to the NHS audits (MICE, Infection Control, Legionella) within the care environment. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies. Main duties of the job The role is to ensure the environments are clean, tidy, safe and comfortable and maintained to appropriate standards. You will be expected to assess the care settings you are responsible for and develop relevant processes to maintain these areas. Experience of auditing will be beneficial. You will be responsible for the ordering of supplies to ensure the smooth running of the ward.
