Gloucestershire Facilities Management (GFM) is recruiting two Estates Operative/Caretaker to join the Estates team based at Gloucestershire College. The purpose of this role is to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all users of the College, providing an efficient and effective service for all students, staff, and visitors to the College in accordance with normal and emergency procedures. To carry out duties relating to the security, general domestic needs and Health & Safety within the College. To follow prescribed procedures in the event of fire, flood, breaking and entering, accident, incident or major damage. The Estates team at the college is made up of 8 Estates officers, 1 receptionist, 3 receptionist & Assistant Estates coordinator, 1 Estates coordinator and 2 estates managers across all 3 of our sites. We support with ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all users of the College, providing an efficient and effective service for all students, staff, and visitors to the College in accordance with normal and emergency procedures. We operate three different opening and closing patterns for operational reasons (these will differ with term time and holiday time), all shift patterns fall within the hours 06:00 and 22:00. We have several part time positions across the sites, and a number of term time only positions. There are limited opportunities for working from home and flexi time hours as the main focus of our department is to be on site – the building must be opened and closed at the set times, reception covered etc. but there are of course opportunities to swap shifts with colleagues.
