Advert This post offers an exciting opportunity to work with as part of Renfrewshire Council’s Family Wellbeing Service. Working as a Family Wellbeing Worker in the Schools Team, this post is a great opportunity to work with young people to promote their wellbeing including their educational outcomes. This role involves working with young people who are at risk of exclusion because of distressed behaviour and/or who have poor attendance, including those experiencing School Based Emotional Avoidance. Working as part of the ‘team round the child’ as part of Renfrewshire Council’s staged intervention processes, you will work closely with Senior Family Wellbeing Workers, school staff and will report to a locality Family Wellbeing Lead. You will provide additional support to learners at secondary school level, during primary to secondary transition and their families. You will also support the delivery of evidenced informed approaches including NVR, Seasons for Growth and Miss, Ms and Mrs. It is essential you have experience of working in a support role with children, young people and families in a school or community setting, A knowledge of issues facing young people and their families experiencing disadvantage and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working with families facing stressful circumstances, group work and home visiting is desirable but not essential. You must be genuinely committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and families, nonjudgmental, highly motivated, enthusiastic, positive, and resilient aswell as tactful, insightful and non-judgmental. While qualifications are not essential, it is desirable you possess a qualification SVQ level 3 or equivalent in a related discipline e.g., Social Care, Childcare and Education. Experience of interagency liaison and Knowledge of curriculum for excellence and GIRFEC aswell as being computer literate with a creative approach to problem solving is also desirable.
