Job summary We are looking for a Head of Leadership and Management to lead and shape our leadership, management and talent approach across Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. This is a pivotal role at a critical time, leadership and management capability is one of our key organisational priorities, and we're looking for an inspiring and experienced professional to take it to the next level. Working alongside the Assistant Director of OD, Wellbeing and Culture and our senior People and Culture leadership team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a high-quality, evidence-based leadership and management development offer that supports our Shaping Our Future Wellbeing Strategy and People and Culture Plan . You will engage with stakeholders to shape leadership principles, development pathways, talent management approaches and coaching and mentoring offers that have real impact on teams, culture and outcomes. This role is about more than programmes, it's about creating an environment where great leadership thrives at every level. You'll work collaboratively across teams and with partners to drive change, improve culture, and support the development of compassionate, confident and capable leaders and managers. This is a strategic leadership role that would suit someone with expertise in leadership development, a passion for improving staff and patient experience, and the ability to translate vision into action. Main duties of the job As Head of Leadership and Management, you will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of our leadership, management and talent agenda. You'll play a key role in building an accountable, consistent and compassionate leadership culture that improves staff experience, team performance and patient outcomes. You will: Develop and implement leadership strategies, frameworks and pathways aligned with our People and Culture Plan and Shaping Our Future Wellbeing Strategy. Design and deliver leadership development programmes for all levels, using digital, face-to-face and experiential methods. Grow our approach to talent management, coaching, mentoring and succession planning. Use data, staff surveys and insight to prioritise development and evaluate impact. Partner with senior leaders, clinical boards, OD, Education and external stakeholders to ensure the offer is inclusive, joined-up and aligned. Advise leaders and contribute to cultural and organisational change. You will bring: Senior-level experience in leadership and management. Strong design, facilitation and project management skills.
