All about the Role This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist health and safety team with the aim of providing dedicated support to all of Peterborough City Council to ensure the health and safety of our employees, legal compliance and support all our many and varied services and activities. The role covers a wide range of work areas such as corporate based risks (office based), to social care, highways, property, waste, green spaces, schools, leisure, waste and fleet as well as commercial and even engineering services. This role is primarily based at Sand Martin House in Peterborough but will also encompass some hybrid working as well as periodically working at other locations undertaking, audits, investigations and other specialist work to meet the needs of the service For further information regarding the post please read the attached job description and person specification. All about You As a health and safety advisor you will be able to build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, working collectively to achieve or maintain legal compliance. You will have a wide range of experience, skills and knowledge that align with our services and risks and be able to demonstrate this. You will be supported in your development and offer training where required to enhance your knowledge and skills. You will also need to have: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and engage a wide group of internal and external stakeholders to achieve health and safety compliance A high level of knowledge, skills and experience in a wide range of work areas Achieved a high level of health and safety training (See JD/PS) Good analytical skills Excellent project and programme managing skills Excellent written and oral communication skills An enthusiastic proactive individual with a can do attitude All about our Team The health and safety team is a very specialist, highly skilled and experienced team providing a service across Peterborough City Council’s wide ranging unitary authority.
