Job summary This full time post is a LAS post of ST4+ in General/neonatal Paediatrics, 6 month contract. The successful applicant will be on the middle grade rota. The role responsibility is for children on the acute children's wards, neonatal ward and cover for Paediatric Accident & Emergency. Ward based teaching is incorporated within this appointment. There is also active participation in supervised outpatient clinics. Applicants applying must have NHS/ UK Experience. Main duties of the job Main duties of the job Day to day clinical management of children on the two acute children's wards, Dolphin and Lion, including medical aspects of surgical patients and close liaison with doctors involved from other specialties Cover for paediatric problems on the Paediatric Accident & Emergency Unit. Providing cover for all acute paediatric referrals from any source. Supervision and teaching of the ST1-ST3 doctors on the Acute Children's Wards and the Paediatric Day Bed Unit. Out of hours, nights and weekends cover both neonatal and general paediatrics. Triage, assess, and manage CYP admitted to Observation bay. Responsible for discharge and subsequent care planning of CYP from observation bay to their home, acute ward or other medical professionals. General Responsibilities Take part in teaching medical students and physician assistant trainees. Acute on-call rota covering nights and weekends 1in 10 SpR rota. Dingley Specialist Children's Centre provides multidisciplinary community services alongside experienced allied health professionals and specialist nurses. Wecover the West of Berkshire which includes Wokingham, Reading and West Berkshire. There are a total of 20 Consultants, 14 in the Acute Hospital setting and 6 Community Based.
