37 hours per week We are seeking a new team member to drive the Local Authority Liveried Mobile Enforcement Vehicle patrolling the Local Authority Highway network and Car Parks as appropriate covered by on and off-street parking orders; thus, capturing civil parking contraventions via the vehicle’s on-board ANPR camera/s. To undertake such patrols on pre-defined designated routes/locations as agreed with the Enforcement Supervisor, including, presenting a positive role model for the authority. To start up the on-board computer and be responsible for ensuring the Camera Enforcement Vehicle’s on-board systems are fully operational before driving off. To download footage onto memory stick at end of day or other appropriate means. To provide feedback on any software anomalies. Always pay due attention to the highway code and plan a safe route. To ensure that the Mobile Enforcement Vehicle is always kept clean and in a serviceable condition by carrying out daily checks before driving vehicles. Report/feedback promptly to line manager any defects or faults identified. Communicate clearly with members of the public, in a courteous, polite and helpful manner. Notify line Manager of incidents and/or accidents affecting passenger or driver safety whilst on duty. Refuel vehicles appropriately from the designated fuel provider and/or facility when required. Accurately record daily information and personal timesheets, as required. Undertake training and actively participate in training in support of the Enforcement Service and its statutory functions. To check that parking signs and notices are accurate on the highway and to report inaccurate or missing signs and lines. To ensure that the issued uniform is worn at all times when on duty and maintained in clean and tidy order. Ensure the maintenance of confidentiality and compliance with the Data Protection Act. Such other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade and in accordance with the general character of the job as may reasonably be required by the managers from time to time. The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post. Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees. A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.
