Job summary Community Health Newham (part of East London NHS Foundation Trust) is recruiting for a Static MSK Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our enthusiastic, friendly, and supportive team in Newham, East London. This position will be based with the musculoskeletal physiotherapy service however the successful post holder may be required on other sites within the Trust, as required. The specialist team provides assessment and treatment for patients with a variety of musculoskeletal presentations and conditions. We are seeking an individual, who is an excellent team worker, is self-motivated and able to keep an up-to-date knowledge base in a supportive environment. An ability to work under pressure and to be able to respond and adapt to changes is a must in the current NHS environment. This post may involve working in lone clinics, as well as evenings and Saturday clinics as required. You will possess a Degree or equivalent graduate diploma in physiotherapy along with current Health Care Professions Council Registration and relevant IT skills. Main duties of the job To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work ensuring a high standard of clinical care for patients under your management. To accept clinical responsibility as an autonomous practitioner for a designated caseload of patients, and organise this efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time. To undertake the assessment and clinical diagnosis of patients using investigative and analytical skills; formulating an individual management and/or treatment programme using clinical reasoning and a range of treatment skills. To assess patients understanding of treatment proposals and their capacity to give informed consent, and working within the legal framework when patients lack capacity to give consent to treatment. To undertake the continuous assessment and evaluation of the treatment programmes and modify them according to the patients' needs. To be actively involved in patient discharge planning, involving the MDT where necessary, to ensure effective care and safe discharge. Independently make the decision to discharge patients from physiotherapy treatment. To maintain comprehensive and accurate written records in line with Trust and professional standards. To assess and manage clinical risk within own patient caseload to ensure your own and patients safety. To participate in out of hours and satellite clinic duties within the Trust having been assessed as competent.
