Project Accountant £44,111 per annum (pay award pending) - Grade 8 Leeds / Hybrid Full time / Permanent - 37 hours per week Closing date – 1 June at 23:55 Please note that the Combined Authority will consider requests for part-time working and/or job share. We are currently seeking a Project Accountant to join our newly established Transport Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a passionate and driven group of finance professionals, working collaboratively across all transport programmes to help deliver the key missions of the Combined Authority. As a Project Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial management of large-scale transport projects, ensuring that public funds are used effectively and transparently. You will work closely with directorate teams to monitor financial performance against budgets, plan future funding requirements, and model the medium and long-term financial outlook. Your insights will help shape strategic decisions and drive positive outcomes for our region’s transport infrastructure. The Role Reporting into the Senior Finance Business Partner, your key responsibilities will include: • Providing Directorates with financial leadership, expertise, support and guidance on financial planning and analysis across a range of projects. • Developing and providing insightful financial analysis and reports to internal and external stakeholders. • Providing a positive contribution to Directorate Management teams and deliver an effective service including advice, support, challenge and guidance to colleagues, ensuring financial controls and procedures are adhered to. About You You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience: · CIMA / CCAB qualified/part qualified (CIPFA, ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI) Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role. · Experience of financial modelling, analysis and business cases . · Experience of managing complex financial processes with multiple stakeholders. · Strong communication skills with the proven ability to influence, negotiate and challenge.
