Job summary The Department of Neurosurgery in association with the Department of Immunology at the University of Hull have linked up to initiate extensive programme into Tumour Immunology. The appointee will be expected to cover 1 in 12 full shift on call rota as neurosurgery registrar and some hours of elective clinical work in department of neurosurgery at Hull Royal Infirmary or Castle Hill Hospital in addition to working on research project leading to MD degree in University of Hull. Applicants who are already in Neurosurgery training post may be able to apply for out of training period. DURATION OF POST One year to be extended for one year more based on performance and mutual consent Main duties of the job Your work pattern will be issued with your offer letter, confirming your shifts and any pay enhancements Primarily to participate in the neurosurgery registrar on call rota. This involves supporting the more junior medical staff, assessment and clerking of new admissions, initiating investigations, performing emergency neurosurgical procedures and treatment. Consultant guidance will be available. The elective clinical work may vary from week to week depending on the service and research needs. The rota will be 1 in 12. This post carries a three month notice period on either side.
