Being based at our shop means you can be right in the thick of it, generating sales and profit for the pets and their families who need our help. Lisa, our shop manager who has led the team since the shop first opened in 2014 explains all about the role of cover supervisor below. More about the role Our cover supervisors are an essential part of our team who are able to step into my shoes as Shop Manager to cover any holidays or sickness as needed. We promise to provide you with a fun and friendly atmosphere with a healthy supply of biscuits to fuel your shifts! My team are really close - some of which have been with us from the very beginning! Our volunteers go above and beyond for Blue Cross and I’m really lucky to work with and share my years of experience and knowledge with them. I’m hoping you will be able to do the same! Day to day, you will be monitoring the shop floor assessing and reporting any health and safety risks or concerns, ensuring a clean and safe environment for staff and customers. We’re very fortunate to receive lots of donations which means we can rotate our stock appropriately, following trends and understanding what the Teddington customer wants - so having an interest in fashion and knowing what would sell is incredibly important. Typically with donations we’ll be sorting through, steaming, cubing and ticketing, pricing items and preparing them for the shop floor. We have a variety of items in store ranging from clothing, jewellery, bric-a-brac and board games. Internally, this role is known as a Standby Shop Assistant. About you I’m looking for someone who understands retail and is able to think outside of the box. I’m really into visual merchandising and having displays that stand out. Maybe we can talk about ideas together? As a team, we’re really passionate about our customers and provide a safe space to anyone and everyone. We pride ourselves on our ‘personal shopping’ experience and want people to plan their next trip back to us! With this in mind, showing empathy and kindness is essential to be successful in our shop. I’m looking for a confident communicator who has a no stones unturned approach. You will have complete responsibility of every aspect of the shop whilst leading our volunteers in a positive and motivational way for our customers to leave happy and satisfied.
