Required for September 2025. Governors would like to appoint an experienced School Counsellor to work alongside our strong pastoral team. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and will use their experience to provide a high-quality counselling service to students who are experiencing a wide range of emotional problems. Promoting the importance of early intervention and access to timely psychological therapies for students and families. The successful candidate will be able to give support, guidance and advice to parents, carers and the school and deliver a bespoke counselling service to the students at Mount St Mary’s. The School Counsellor role will contribute to the safeguarding, promotion of welfare and personal care of students whilst observing confidentiality at all times. The post holder will develop and use a range of solution focussed interventions to support students, liaising with other agencies, parents/carers and school staff where appropriate. The successful candidate must hold a recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to convey empathy and relate well to all members of the school and wider community This post is fixed term for 2 terms maternity cover.
