Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Emergency Medicine Doctor to work at the Bedford Hospital Site Emergency Department. You must be dedicated to providing high quality emergency care, maintaining clinical standards, and continually looking to drive positive change by developing the service. The Senior Clinical Fellow will be required to assist in the day-to-day running of the Department as directed by the Consultants, and play an active role in shop floor management. 2. General Duties: i) All patients to be seen and assessed in accordance with departmental guidance. ii) Offer oversight and advice to junior doctors as required, escalating to the ED Consultant on the shop floor as appropriate. iii) Keeping meticulous patient records is essential. These must be dated and initialled, together with any other related administrative duties, including discharge letters, review of x-ray and pathology reports. All patients seen must be coded appropriately prior to discharge. iv) Duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances are at the request of the appropriate Consultant(s) in consultation where possible with colleagues both senior and junior. Additional commitments arising under this paragraph are exceptional. In particular, the Senior Clinical Fellows will not be required to undertake work of this kind for prolonged periods or on a regular basis. v) To read and follow any protocols and clinical guidelines laid down (either in writing or verbally) for the department. vi) In case of any difficulties, either clinical or administrative, to ensure timely advice is sought from a senior colleague/ ED Consultant. vii) To accurately gather data required for clinical audit and to participate in audit meetings. viii) To participate in Middle Grade Teaching Job description Job responsibilities 1.
