Salary : £38,626 to £41,511 per annum Contract Type: Permanent Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week) with flexible working arrangements to be discussed. Location: Your office base will be in Chichester with the opportunity to work from home depending on the service requirements. Interview Date: week commencing Monday 09 June 2025 A typical week requires attendance to the office for at least 1 day per week plus any necessary site visits to conduct inspections and supervision of our suppliers. Working from home can be agreed when required as this is led by the needs and nature of the service. Final arrangements will be confirmed with the successful candidate. You will also need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes will be made available as required. About the job Our work in Structure Assets Team and any given day can often feel quite different from the next! You will deliver a customer focused approach and will undertake a range of tasks including: Providing engineering support for the Structures Maintenance programme and inspection of structures. Planning, organising and undertaking structural inspections. Support the management of the structures database system ensuring the safe delivery of inspections using WSCCs Framework providers for provision of access equipment and traffic management. Identifying maintenance and repair works to structures and supervising minor construction works. Supervising and managing bespoke contracts for Pump Servicing and Underwater Inspections. Providing communication and support to our Customer Service Hub. There will be some interaction with members of the public, for example, dealing with customer complaints and queries. There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public. If you have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and thrive in a fast paced environment, we want to hear from you! Required experience and skills A full valid UK driving license. Customer service skills and the ability to seek and introduce continuous improvement and innovation, for self and team. Analytical skills. Knowledge of relevant standards and procedures applicable to the inspection of bridge structures. Political awareness when working with members/senior management. Evidence of applying knowledge and providing advice in relation to specific specialist area. Experience of delivering a maintenance and repair service. Experience of managing and monitoring budgets or projects for a service. Ability to identify problems independently.
