Senior Real Estate Accountant (AAT Qualified) – 4 Days / 30 Hours Per Week Location: Fitzrovia, London Company: Avanton Reports to: Head of Accounts and Operations About Avanton Avanton is a dynamic property development and investment company based in London, specializing in repositioning assets across residential and commercial real estate. With a portfolio valued at £2.15 billion GDV, we manage 8 active development SPVs, 4 corporate SPVs, and multiple holding companies across the UK. Our team is committed to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity, strategic growth, and operational excellence. We are now looking for an experienced Senior Real Estate Accountant to join our finance team and play a key role in managing our portfolio. What We’re Looking For We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant with real estate experience to oversee financial operations, reporting, and compliance across our portfolio. The ideal candidate will be an AAT-qualified professional with strong technical and commercial awareness. Qualifications & Experience AAT qualified or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in real estate Strong understanding of UK financial regulations and standards Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel, QuickBooks, TaxCalc) Experience in SPV accounting, VAT returns, CIS returns, and management accounts Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—a team player with a willingness to learn Key Responsibilities Oversee financial operations across Avanton’s real estate portfolio Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support management decision-making Oversee and assist with monthly management accounts, VAT returns, and CIS returns (prepare when necessary) Prepare and file end-of-year accounts in compliance with UK financial regulations Ensure full compliance with financial regulations and standards Manage accounts payable and receivable processes Perform bank reconciliations and ledger management Handle tax preparation and filings Lead audit processes for SPVs and maintain accurate financial records Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth What We Offer Competitive salary with performance-related bonuses Comprehensive benefits package (including health, dental, and vision) Pension contribution Professional development support for further qualifications A friendly and collaborative work environment Opportunities for career growth and advancement How to Apply If you’re a skilled real estate accountant looking for a flexible and rewarding opportunity, we’d love to hear from you! 📩 To Apply: Send your CV and cover letter to HR@Avanton.co.uk with the subject line: "Senior Real Estate Accountant Application."
