Job Description
Requirements Must have: We are looking for a talented Analyst with strong technical knowledge who has experience with Higher Education systems, such as Student Records systems (preferably Tribal SITS). Experience with Client Relationship Management (MS Dynamics) or Timetabling (TechnologyOne) would be advantageous. You should have knowledge of PRINCE2 Practitioner or ITIL Practitioner, or any recognized repeatable project management methodology. Additionally, experience in using SITS or a similar student record system, as well as a good understanding of the principles that govern such systems, is essential. Experience in developing or configuring a student records system or an equivalent complex information system—such as e:Vision architecture, SRL, Tasking, and Vista skills—is required. You should also possess the ability to gather and interpret complex requirements and lead the review and redesign of business processes and supporting systems. Knowledge of quality assurance processes and the development of test requirements, scenarios, and scripts is important. Responsibilities: In this role, you will work as part of a strong, welcoming, and supportive team, using your experience to support the maintenance and development of some of the university's core student systems, which underpin the business processes associated with the student lifecycle from application to graduation. You will be responsible for understanding the requirements of the business to design and build appropriate solutions (including interfaces and workflows) that optimize the scope of the student record. This includes ensuring that processes are simplified and consistent across the organization while effectively supporting all end-user communities. You will support the use and integration of the student systems within academic and central support departments, create process models of business activities, and analyze their performance as-is and to-be models. Furthermore, you will develop and maintain expert knowledge of the student-related systems managed by the team, how they support the associated business processes, and their relation to other university systems. Company: This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of the Information Services Team at Edinburgh Napier University, where we provide innovative and reliable IT services that are continuously adapted to meet the changing needs of staff and students in our rapidly evolving technological landscape. We offer a great working environment that supports ambition, recognizes achievement, and provides an excellent benefits package, including hybrid working and flexible opportunities, a minimum of 41 days annual leave (including 10 fixed holidays), a generous pension scheme (with an employer contribution of 17.6%), 35-hour workweeks, nationally agreed pay increases each year, various learning and development opportunities, and discounted access to onsite and local gym facilities, alongside other staff discounts. Salary for this role ranges from £37,174 to £45,413 per annum (Grade 5). Please note that the closing date for applications is 11:59 PM on 1 June, with interviews scheduled for the week commencing 9 June. The University may be able to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role, depending on specific factors related to the successful applicant. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels proud, confident, challenged, and supported, holding statuses such as Disability Confident, Carer Positive, and Stonewall Diversity Champion..
