The Growth Company’s (GC) IPS Employment team is seeking a Service Manager who will motivate and support an operational team to deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) programme and to ensure a high-quality programme is delivered with respect and empathy. This role requires the successful candidate to work across Greater Manchester area daily. At present, all applications are treated as expressions of interest, with funding subject to the successful award of a contract. We help to make a lasting difference to the lives of people throughout the North of England and beyond, by supporting individuals to gain meaningful employment. Our highly skilled advisers and keyworkers work with a range of individuals; from people who have found themselves recently out of work, to those with complex barriers such as physical disabilities, mental ill-health and debt. Key responsibilities: Ensure high-quality IPS services that support service users in gaining and progressing in employment, aligned with GC values and IPS Fidelity standards. Recruit, retain, and lead a high-performing team, fostering engagement, development, and adherence to CPD and Social Value commitments. Drive achievement of KPIs and targets through regular reviews, coaching, and use of the Performance Management Framework. Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners, referral agencies, and stakeholders to maximize service reach and effectiveness. Oversee mobile workforce logistics, ensure effective communication, and manage day-to-day service quality, including complaints and feedback. Ensure compliance with audit requirements, data integrity, and accurate use of systems like Esyncs; provide regular performance reports. Manage P&L, staff productivity, client spend, petty cash, and office costs to meet financial targets. Apply improvement methodologies, contribute to best practice sharing, and adapt services based on market intelligence and evolving needs. About you: Strong understanding of the health and NHS landscape within Greater Manchester. Solid knowledge of the employability, training, and employment sectors. Working familiarity with people management principles and employment legislation. Ability to interpret and utilize management information (MI) and financial data. Well-informed about local labour market trends and dynamics. Good grasp of relevant local and national policy frameworks. Highly results-oriented with a focus on achieving performance outcomes. Confident and capable people manager with strong initiative and drive. Skills required: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively. Confident in delivering presentations to partners and key stakeholders. Skilled in producing clear, well-structured written reports. Proficient and fluent in the use of ICT tools and systems. Experienced in people management and staff development. Demonstrated success in achieving measurable outcomes in welfare-to-work or health-related environments.
