Job summary We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a Band 6Sister/Charge nurse onWard 310. The ward is a 30 bedded ward, which provides care to Neurological/stroke and general medical patients. The post holder will be expected to provide clinical leadership to our nursing and support staff alongside the existing Senior Sister. We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated individual who has excellent communication skills, and has the ability, drive and enthusiasm to motivate the team to provide high quality patient care. You will need to have good organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to demonstrate leadership. The Sister/Charge Nurse role involves patient and staff education and student teaching. Collaborative working is also a fundamental part of the role which involves working with the consultants, dieticians, Neurology CNS and therapists who all work together for the benefit of the patients Main duties of the job The successful candidate will: Support the Band 7 Ward Manager to lead a team of staff to provide a high quality service; ensuring excellent standards of patient care are delivered and maintained Deputise in the absence of the ward manager Provide effective support and leadership to staff, patients and carers on the ward.
