Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Staff Nurse to join the dynamic and supportive team on 8 North Ward--a 22-bedded unit specialising in Endocrinology and General Medicine. We are seeking a motivated and experienced nurse with a strong background in acute medical care. The successful candidate will be confident in taking charge of the ward, leading shifts, and supporting the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. Main duties of the job Provide clinical leadership and act as a role model for junior staff and students. Take responsibility for the coordination of care and safe discharge planning. Deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and compassionate care. Collaborate effectively with the wider MDT to manage complex medical patients. Support staff development through mentorship and supervision. Plan organise and deploy staff according to ability and workload in order to meet patient needs. Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested.
