Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Childrens Nurse to undertake with the Community Childrens Nursing (CCN) Specialist Practitioner Qualification (SPQ) programme. The position is a one-year post-registration programme supported on a secondment basis by Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS Foundation Trust to fulfil the academic and practice requirements of both the relevant University and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). The programme is provided jointly with the University of Surrey and commences in September 2025. Please note the entry requirements to study this MSc (level 7) programme detailed in the person specification. The SPQ CCN student will work as part of the Children's Community Nursing team, providing high quality holistic, family centred nursing care for children, young people and families with acute and short-term conditions, long term conditions, disabilities, complex health conditions, continuing care needs, life limiting, life-threatening illness, including palliative and end of life care needs. The SPQ CCN student will learn from experienced professionals who are experts in their respective fields, ensuring high quality education and supervision. This opportunity will enable the SPQ CCN student to meet the NMC standards for specialist education and practice, recording the qualification with the NMC on completion.
