We are looking for somebody who will be able to fulfil the following: Able to participate in a seven day working pattern Team player To build rapport with patients, relatives and staff members To be a dynamic member of the team Keen to develop self and others within the department Main duties of the job Support the pre-operative assessment process, working closely with the wider therapy team to gather information on patients' home environment, functional abilities and support needs Liaise with patients, carers and external teams, including pre-assessment from other trusts (e.g. Southampton) to ensure all necessary adjustments and equipment are in place before surgery. Assist in delivering therapy interventions for patients pre and post-operatively, focusing on functional independence, mobility and discharge planning Carry out basic assessments such as exercise provision and mobility progression under the supervision of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and provide feedback to the wider team. Support patients with equipment provision and home adaptations Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, nursing staff and consultants to ensure seamless patient care. Contribute towards patient education, reinforcing key information about recovery, rehabilitation and safe discharge. Maintain accurate documentation Participate in supervision, training and service development, helping to improve and refine the elective orthopaedic pathway.
