Job summary These exciting new roles will contribute to the delivery of the Oxleas Stop Smoking Service objectives and the wider objectives of the Trust by providing high-quality, expert stop smoking interventions to inpatients, outpatients, visitors, and staff. The Tobacco Dependence Treatment (TDT) Advisor will operationally deliver the smoking element of the NHS LTP by delivering a stop smoking by establishing a stop smoking service for mental health inpatient units based upon the Ottawa and CURE Models of Smoking Cessation and to support Oxleas in improving care for discharged mental health patients, ensuring continuity of care and enhancing quit outcomes. . We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic individual (s) who can produce results in a challenging environment. As the TDT Advisor it will be your responsibility to deliver and the TDT service with the support of the TDT Lead. This role requires an ability to manage time and resources effectively to ensure that you hit targets and provide highly effective support for smokers who are admitted to our hospitals. Candidates with experience of providing stop smoking interventions and delivering training would be ideally suited to this role, as would individuals with clinical experience in the hospital setting. Main duties of the job To contribute to the delivery of the Oxleas Tobacco Dependence Treatment Service objectives and the wider objectives of the Trust by providing high-quality, expert stop smoking interventions to inpatients and staff whilst driving a culture change towards prevention of ill-health and promoting physical health and wellbeing. The Tobacco Dependency Advisor will operationally deliver the smoking element of the NHS LTP by providing a stop smoking service for inpatients admitted to Greenparks House (Bromley), Oxleas House (Greenwich) or Woodlands and Barefoot Lodge (Bexley) based upon the Ottawa and CURE Models of Smoking Cessation. This role will provide front-facing, visible and accessible support by offering face-to-face onsite clinics to service users in each of the mental health inpatient wards in the Acute and Crisis Directorate.
