Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join a friendly and dynamic team within the Cardiothoracic department at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The Cardiothoracic department at Castle Hill Hospital is a busy tertiary centre. It provides cardiac and thoracic surgery services to the local population of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire and provides specialist surgery to a much wider geographical area including North Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire. Main duties of the job Supported by the Trust, you will develop your knowledge and skills in the management of a wide array of both cardiac and thoracic surgery, as well as medical and trauma presentations and develop a high level of autonomy. You will also be required to complete your MSc in Advanced Practice alongside core and specialty competencies relevant to the role. Throughout your training, you will have the opportunity for personal development in the four pillars of advanced practice. Upon successful completion of the training programme as a Qualified ACP you will progress to AFC Band 8a. The role will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice. You will (under supervision of a senior clinician), assist in the safe assessment, treatment, referral and discharge of patients in their designated directorate.
