Full Time / 37 Hours / Fixed Term for 6 months due to Maternity cover We are looking for an organised Transport Co-ordinator who can work in a fast-paced environment with a positive outlook to arrange and co-ordinate transport services, using initiative, enabling to deal with urgently needed transport requests and low-level complaints in a fast-moving environment. You’ll be responsible for the daily running, monitoring and changes of the transport service. With your great professional telephone manner, you’ll liaise with internal, external suppliers, schools, day centres, person in need, carers, families, and specialist schools, ensuring service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments. Your working pattern for this post is on a rota; 07:30 – 15:30, 08:00 – 16:00 09:00 - 17:00 (with half hour lunch) We will consider this vacancy on a secondment basis for Leicester City Council employees. What you’ll be doing With good customer service skills, you’ll take bookings, handle queries from providers or person/families/carers and deal with all in an equal, professional, and tactful manner. With competent decision making and proficient IT skills you’ll have expertise in MS Excel to compile & maintain statistics in order to record information and accurately produce reports when necessary. On occasions, you’ll be required to investigate complaints and writing up responses and reports, escalating when necessary to Seniors or other internal agents. When registering a new person, you’ll ensure they meet the pre-set agreed criteria, send out information & standard letters to prospective persons in need and various relevant groups and maintain records. You will prepare, collate, and distribute information to relevant stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner working with the other Transport Coordinators on the team to complete these tasks. What you’ll need You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, to ensure that transport services are carried out to the correct times and standards. You will be customer focused, to tactfully liaise with internal and external clients, to ensure smooth running of the service, whilst having excellent IT skills to update databases whilst always maintaining confidentiality and data protection.
