Main duties of the job This post is for a junior surgeon or doctor who wishes to gain some experience of cardiothoracic surgery, prior to applying for core surgical training posts or ST3 in cardiothoracic surgery. The aim of this post would be to develop clinical skills as a doctor, in particular skills related to cardiology/cardiothoracic surgery; to obtain basic surgical skills; and improve the CV by building up experience in audit and research with the aim of applying for a training post.
