This position is Fixed Term for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave. About Us Hull City Council’s Welfare Rights Service is a specialist benefit advice service which provides comprehensive welfare benefit advice designed to support staff across the council and to maximise the incomes of Hull residents. The Job We are looking for a full-time (37 hrs) temporary Welfare Rights Officer to cover maternity leave. This role will include contributing to a busy consultancy service to support staff with a range of welfare benefit questions. This will include delivering detailed advice based on the information provided and undertaking full benefit assessments to maximise the income of residents. This role will also contribute to the provision of a casework service that aims to enable residents to access their correct legal entitlement to benefits and services, and to minimise social and economic exclusion. The team operates on a citywide basis and officers may need to work from various locations throughout the city according to the requirements of the service. The role will involve attending court hearings as a representative.
