Join us and contribute to making a positive impact on our community. The Role We are seeking a dedicated Bundle Officer X2 to join our Child Protection Legal Team. The Child Protection Legal Team advise on all aspects of safeguarding children. In this role, you will predominantly be responsible for producing electronic bundles to be used in court proceedings. Please Note There Are 2X Permanent Bundle Officer Posts Available. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain the electronic court bundle system, to include: Produce and update bundles containing highly sensitive information; Analyse documents for inclusion in the bundle and identify relevant sections of the bundle; Distribute bundles and upload to the HMCTS Court Portal; Prepare final bundles for archiving. - Maintain the system in relation to birth certificates; - Maintain new systems as identified as being necessary (for example future case management system and Safedrop bundle distribution system; - Deal with queries in relation to disclosure of court bundles and/or documents from archived files Work Style At North Somerset Council, we offer a hybrid working environment based on four distinct work styles. Depending on the role and personal circumstances, you will fall into one of these categories. However, please note that during the induction period, it may be necessary to spend more time in the office to support your learning and development. We are flexible and open to discussions about your preferred working style, and if you wish to be in the office more frequently, this can be negotiated. This role falls into the category of Mobile/Field Worker which means you can expect to work in the following way: Mobile Worker - 0-1 day in the office per week - Comes into the office for meetings or focused work. Virtual connections with the team are essential, with portable technology supporting work on the go. About You We are looking for an individual with good verbal and written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail. Essential Criteria: - 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C (including English Language & Maths) or equivalent qualifications; - Experience of dealing with any aspects of public law child protection work; - Practical experience of handling court bundles; - Basic working knowledge of the Children Act 1989; - Ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral); - Ability to work with precision and excellent attention to detail, with minimum supervision once training has been completed; - Reliable and adaptable and able to work on own initiative and under pressure, demonstrating good time management skills and the ability to prioritise matters; - Flexible and when work levels demand to work outside of normal office hours; - Other skills including: processing, updating, checking, recording, researching, analysing and redacting. Desirable Criteria: - Any law related qualifications; - Experience of working in local government; - Knowledge of the President of the Family Division’s Practice Direction for court bundles in family proceedings; - Knowledge of the Public Law Outline; - Knowledge and use of an electronic bundling system; - Knowledge and use of an electronic redaction programme.
