We have a fixed-term opportunity for a Medical Statistician to join the Global Health Trials Unit (GHTU). This full-time role involves providing comprehensive statistical support to researchers, assisting them in study design, data analysis, and the communication of findings. The postholder will perform statistical analyses on project-generated data, guide researchers in study design, and support non-statistical team members with basic statistical methodology. Additionally, they will contribute to the development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to data processing and statistical matters, as well as play a key role in trial protocols, case report forms, databases, and grant proposals in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Key Responsibilities will include: Providing statistical support to researchers, advising on study design and data analysis. Performing statistical analyses on data generated by the project and assisting in communicating findings in peer-reviewed publications and reports. Guiding and supporting researchers in study design and statistical analyses for grant applications. Assisting and supporting non-statistical researchers with basic statistical methodologies. Contributing to the introduction and updating of Standard Operating Procedures for data processing and statistical methods. Developing trial protocols, design case report forms, and managing databases in a multidisciplinary environment. Providing statistical input to Trial Management Groups, Trial Steering Committees, and Data Monitoring and Ethics Committees. Writing papers for high-impact international journals and contribute to the dissemination of research outputs. Keeping up to date with major developments in clinical trial design and statistical analyses. Ensuring adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the Data Protection Act, and GHTU standard operating procedures. Traveling overseas occasionally to support research partners.
