If so, perhaps this will be the opportunity for you.Southfield has a new female ward opening and provides specialist care and treatment for people with serious mental illness in a secure environment who are detained under the Mental Health Act. Service Users are aged between 18 - 65 years old, and may have either committed a criminal offence, or have challenging behaviour. We will have one male ward and one female ward split into two halves. The main purpose of the unit is to assist Service Users to understand and manage their own mental health, so that where possible, they can be reintegrated back into the community.We would welcome applications from, RMN or RNLD nurses who have a passion for working with multi-disciplinary teams as we pride ourselves on this. The person we are looking for should possess excellent team working skills, be patient focused and embracing of the Trust values.We would also welcome applications from students or newly qualified nurses: you will be fully supported and encouraged to develop your clinical skills; you will also be invited to take part in the Trusts Preceptorship Programme that will provide you with the practical skills required of you in this role. Our LEAD team offer unparalleled training and development opportunities and CPD; all staff are encouraged to access these.Main duties of the jobTo contribute where required to the provision of a 24 hour, seven day a week In-patient based service, across an acute care pathway.Under the supervision of the Clinical Ward Manager and Charge Nurses, you are required to work according to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines. You will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. Develop, implement and evaluate care plans in conjunction with service users, carers and other professionals ensuring individual needs are met.
