Job summaryThis is a fixed term 12-month post for a clinical research fellow in Anaesthesia to join the Medical Devices Testing and Evaluation Centre (MD-TEC) team in Research Development and Innovation at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB). The post- holder will have the opportunity to become involved in several ongoing projects within the team relating to the West Midlands Health Technology Innovation Accelerator; a collaborative network of expertise across industry, NHS and universities that will help pioneering businesses navigate the key stages of medical translation. MD-TEC is internationally known for its near real world usability studies and working alongside the NIHR Trauma Management Med Tech Cooperative (TM-MIC) to support life science companies and clinicians develop medical devices and technologies.Main duties of the jobSupport will vary as per company requirement but will focus largely on human factors/ usability studies and the development of clinical investigation studies. Innovate UK and the West Midlands Combined Authority fund the research programme is supported by the Anaesthesia Department, the NIHR TM-MIC and MD-TEC.The post will be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, part of the University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The appointee must demonstrate that they have a background in the relevant specialty at ST3 level or above.
