We are currently seeking an experienced Test Technician to join our client's advanced engineering team in Stafford. Who Will You Work With: Our client is a key player in the Green Energy transition, developing innovative High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) technologies. You will be part of a dynamic manufacturing and testing environment within a world-class engineering facility. About the Role: As a Test Technician , you will be responsible for performing routine production testing of HVDC and FACTS products. This includes diagnostic work, equipment calibration, maintenance, and supporting the testing team to ensure high standards of quality and safety are met. The ideal candidate will bring a background in high-voltage test environments and a strong commitment to continuous learning and problem-solving. This is a 6-month B2B contract based onsite 5 days a week at the Lord Nelson Building, Stafford (ST16 1WS) , with a strong possibility of extension. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine production testing of all HVDC and FACTS products. Troubleshoot test failures down to the component level. Carry out routine VAV processes. Support the maintenance, calibration, and servicing of test equipment. Assist with equipment upgrades and product changeovers. Ensure all safety checks and documentation are up to date. Follow the company's EHS and safety protocols. Act as the Person in Charge (PIC) during testing activities. Preferred Skills & Experience: Experience in a manufacturing test environment. Technical electrical qualification. Hands-on experience with test equipment operating up to 10KV or 2000A at low voltage. Prior experience with HVDC product testing is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset. Comfortable working to deadlines while maintaining quality standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
