Job summaryThe Clinical effectiveness midwife as a key member of the senior maternity team will work to improve the quality and safety of patient care through a programme of conscientious audit, education and professional development.The post holder will lead in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of clinical standards, processes and evidence to support safe, effective high quality maternity, neonatal and gynaecological care.Specifically, the post holder will provide multidisciplinary clinical staff with the support to effectively implement clinical standards across all its component parts for maternity services, within a framework which uses information to improve the systems of care and evidence to support effective outcomes.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work within the Safety and Quality Team, maintaining oversight of neonatal outcomes and undertake maternity, neonatal and gynaecology investigationsThe post holder will lead on services processes, including quality assurance through audit, external reporting, and risk management.The post holder will have a key role in the oversight of neonatal outcomes and lead on prevention and management of pre-term birthThe post holder will work as a senior member of the multidisciplinary team, liaising with professionals who impact on the care and management of women and their families, creating and maintaining a positive learning environment to maximise the full potential of staff.The post holder will undertake these functions under the line management of the Clinical Quality and Governance Matron.About us#BeKnown at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
