Job summaryResponsible for the clinical photography undertaken for the Tele-dermatology and Tele-dermoscopy service for the Royal Wolverhampton and Walsall Hospital Trusts and when required, at any site where Clinical Photography services are provided by the Trust.Ability to use location and studio lighting in a variety of photographic situations to accurately record a clinical condition is essential. Provide illustrative advice and recommendations to medical staff to ensure that clinical conditions are recorded using the most appropriate views / techniques so enabling satisfactory assessment of such clinical conditions.Photography of all clinical conditions including specialist techniques such as wet dermoscopy using polarized and non-polarised patient contact techniques. Provide advice to users, as and when necessary, regarding illustration solutions.Use professional judgement and experience to interpret complex information from clinical request form, provide clinicians with high quality clinical photographs and videos for all specialist areas such as, Dermatology, Orthodontics, Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery. Maintain an up-to-date CPD portfolio to satisfy the requirements of the Institute of Medical Illustrators. This is a mandatory requirement to maintain continued CAMIP Registration.Photography of all clinical conditions including specialist techniques such as wet dermoscopy using polarized and non-polarised patient contact techniques. Cross lighting, mole mapping, UV and IR photography as required.Use of a variety of DSLR equipment and mobile devices, risks, consent, storage, data protection, patient positioning, infection control, backgrounds, lighting, camera settings, dermoscopy, labelling, choice technique to image different conditions.Use of specialist equipment invasive and noninvasive.Accurately capture stills and video images of clinical conditions and non-clinical requests. Provide advice to users, as and when necessary, regarding illustration solutions.Post capture processing of images using specialised software for image manipulation, page layout and digital asset management. This will include; page layout of templates, colour correction, cropping, exposure etc and uploading onto the Clinical Web Portal.Knowledge of the standard view requirements for clinical photography in specialised areas through an extensive understanding of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.Ability to use location and studio lighting in a variety of photographic situations to accurately record a clinical condition is essential.
