Job summaryWorking as part of our multi-award winning Divisional Analytics Team, our Divisional Information Managers are responsible for leading teams of BI Analysts in transforming the hospital activity data we hold into intelligence and insight to facilitate planning and delivery of our acute services and managing external reporting to NHSE.Over the past few years our BI team have worked to aid the trust in making critical decisions while supporting patient flow and quality of care during one of the most important and challenging times for healthcare. This included using advanced forecasting models to predict COVID admissions, creating real time operational dashboards, and gaining access to never before seen data flows. Gloucestershire Hospitals BI Team has gained national recognition, winning the Health Tech Newspaper Award for Best Use of Data 2020 and AphA's Analytical Team of the Year.This is an exciting time to be a part of the GHFT BI team. A key element of the team's responsibilities is the management and submission of mandated returns to NHSE, PHE and external givernaning organisations. The Corporate team also provides accurate, concise and clear information and analytics to the Trust to support its strategic objectives covering RTT waiting times, Bed Occupancy, Hospital Flow and much more.The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, along with the ability to effectively communicate and present complex information to a range of different stakeholders. The post holder will have management responsibility for 3-4 analysts within the Business Intelligence team, helping to support their development. This will involve ensuring a high level of analysis, interpretation, synthesis and presentation of information reports to ensure stakeholders are advised of any potential problem areas. The information to be presented in a clear and concise manner and where appropriate to recommend solutions. This involves working closely with clinicians and senior managers within the hospital to understand their requirements, developing reporting tools and providing intelligence to enable services to make better informed decisions. The post holder will need to be engaging, forward thinking, and work with a positive attitude in order to build great working relationships with our customers to improve patient care.To lead, together with the other BI Managers, the teams staff to ensure they are well motivated work effectively and achieve their personal and team objectives. This includes line management HR functions, recruitment functions and ensuring staff are developed and appraised each year.Understand and interpret complex concepts and respond appropriately to tight deadlines.
