The award-winning University of Dundee Careers Service aims to help all students and graduates realise and achieve their future goals through provision of careers education, advice and guidance and a wide range of opportunities for development of professional skills. In order to achieve this, we are recruiting for an Employer Engagement Officer to work with a number of schools across the University. The Employer Engagement Officer has a strategically important role focussed on supporting the employability of students through work-related and work-based learning. The successful applicant will work with the Careers Service, supporting a number of schools across the University and will be expected to engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders to drive forward continuous development of services and initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward thinking, engaged and supportive University Careers Team. The purpose of this role is to: To generate and develop relationships with employers, employer networks, professional bodies and external providers in order to source and manage opportunities for students to participate in internships, placements and other relevant work related learning experiences that will enhance their employability. To work closely with the Careers Service team and the wider University community to ensure placement and employer engagement activity is seamlessly linked with curricular and co-curricular employability provision. Ensure that employer relationships are developed in a sustained manner by providing solutions tailored to their requirements and developing innovative opportunities for engagement. Who we're looking for: The successful postholder will be a confident communicator comfortable working with a range of stakeholders. You will have a professional track record of meeting targets and achieving desired business outcomes. You will have experience of, and be comfortable, networking and building/maintaining relationships. With excellent organisational and problem solving skills you will be able to work as part of a team and can work on own initiative in an innovative and consultative manner. You will always provide excellent customer service to all our stakeholders and will refer to colleagues for support when required.
