Job summaryWe are recruiting for Healthcare Assistants to join our team at the Community Rehabilitation Unit based at St. Mary's Hospital on the Isle of Wight.You will be supporting registered nursing staff and therapists in the provision of clinical care to the patients within the nurse-led unit. As part of your role you will also carry out some housekeeping tasks such as: preparation of drinks, breakfasts, cleaning etc.The successful candidate will assist the patient in all activities of daily living and achieving their goals set by the Therapists, with both direct and indirect supervision as delegated by a registered nurse.Main duties of the jobThe main duties of the role will be:To maintain patient comfort, dignity and privacy at all times.To prepare patients drinks, serve meals and provide assistance as required.Assist in the emergency resuscitation of patients, following appropriate training.Escort patients to other areas and departments as per Trust escort protocol.Maintain high standards of care in an environment which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals.About usSouthern Health is one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK, specialising in mental health and learning disabilities, as well as offering physical health community-based services.With a workforce of more than 7000 and a footprint that spans more than 200 sites across Hampshire, we're wholeheartedly committed to providing the best possible healthcare, reaching a range of diverse communities, whilst placing patients and staff at the forefront of all our endeavours.We are currently working closely with other NHS Trusts to integrate all our collective community, mental health, and learning disability services.
