Job summaryUniversity Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) is a large NHS teaching trust providing integrated patient care in one of the UK's most diverse cities. With 1in2 people affected by cancer this is a pivotal role that will lead and support how we shape and deliver our services to reduce waiting times and improve patient experience and outcomes for our community.The Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse will play a critical role in collaboration with all clinical teams in ensuring the provision of high-level operational and strategic planning and leadership.Main duties of the jobWorking closely with a range of specialist nurses in cancer, palliative and end of life care within the Trust, the Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse will provide expert advice to take forward cancer nursing practice and professional development in line with local, regional and national priorities.As an experienced nurse, you will support the management of complex and multi-faceted demands on the cancer pathway, delivering transformational change. The post holder will work to continuously improve the quality of health provision for patients with cancer, and their families.
