Job summaryManaging Director Acute ServicesFull Time - VSMThe Managing Director for Acute Services will provide executive level leadership and be responsible at board level for all Acute Hospital Services. Working in tandem with the Managing Director - Community Services and Integration, they will ensure the Trust's operational services are delivered in a safe and effective way.Proposed Interview Date - 4th July 2024Main duties of the job1. To act as executive lead for the Trust's response to urgent and emergency care demands, supporting the implementation of the winter plan and developing new approaches to mitigate ongoing additional clinical and operational risks. Specifically to ensure a focus on the safe delivery of care and achievement of the 4 and 12 hour standards and ambulance handover targets.2. To ensure delivery of the elective care plan and specifically to ensure the Trust achieves the ERF target, 6 week diagnostic and agreed cancer standards.3. To act as line manager for the Directors of Planned Care, Cancer and Urgent Care and support the 3 clinical directorates - IAC, ISCCS, IWCSH which are primarily focussed on acute service delivery. Specifically to ensure the delivery of quality, operational and financial targets as established in the annual financials plans, working through the performance management process.4. With the Medical Director, provide line management support to the Clinical Directors and CBU leads of IAC, ISCCS and IWSCH.5.
